CanSurround is a web and mobile experience solely focused on reducing needless distress and creating emotional well-being for people living with cancer. CanSurround provides information, inspiration and strategies that guide people toward choices that foster personal growth and healing.
Do I have to pay for CanSurround?
Can Surround is free for individuals with cancer, or those affected by cancer.
Who should use CanSurround?
Anyone who is affected by cancer—patients, caregivers, family members, friends, co-workers—can benefit from CanSurround. Our future plans include the development of content specifically for each of these groups, as well as for health care providers (doctors, nurses, social workers, etc.).
Why do you want to know my cancer diagnosis and when I was diagnosed?
To provide you with a more thoughtful, beneficial and customized CanSurround experience, we find it helpful to know your diagnosis and date of diagnosis. We will not disclose this information to anyone.
Is CanSurround appropriate for any type and stage of cancer?
No matter what your type or stage of cancer, you can benefit from CanSurround. We offer a multitude of proven strategies so any participant can find ways to help ease distress.
How often can I use CanSurround?
Use CanSurround as much as you want. You can use any of the features wherever and whenever you choose.
What technology requirements are there?
CanSurround can be accessed from all major browsers on desktop, tablet and mobile. (Internet Explorer 9+, Opera 12+, Safari 5.1+, Chrome 21+, Firefox 10+) Using the latest browser will result in the best results.
I do not see CanSurround in the app store. Can I download an app for CanSurround for my phone?
You can access CanSurround easily and conveniently via the web browser on your mobile phone, tablet or mobile device. We are in the processing of developing an app specifically for CanSurround.
Do I need Internet access to use CanSurround?
Yes. It’s easy to access CanSurround using the web browser on your computer, tablet or mobile phone.
When I use CanSurround on a mobile device, will it affect my data usage?
If you can access the Internet from your mobile phone or tablet using wifi, you will not use your data plan.
Are medical professionals involved in CS’s content creation?
Everything has been written by or reviewed by medical professionals with experience in cancer care and/or mental health. Where applicable, CanSurround’s features are base on available scientific evidence.
